If you’re reading this, then your SKY HD box is probably full, or you are always deleting programs to make space for new recordings! So what can you do?
Sky would love you to buy a new 1TB box for £250, plus £30 installation. So you can pay £280, yet loose all your recordings, planner events and series links! Or, for almost a third of the price, you
can have your existing box upgraded to 1TB, which will not only run cooler and quieter than your existing drive, but also have all your drive content and planner settings transferred to the new drive!
Common questions:
Q. How do I get my box to you?
A. You can either arange your own courier to send the item to us, then collect once finished, or you can use our collection and return service where our courier will collect and return your Sky box for a single price. To use this service simply add the collection and return service @ 330 to your basket before completeing checkout.
Q. How long will you have my box?
A. All upgrades are performed within 48 hours of receipt, working days only
Q. Will I lose all my programs and planner details?
A. No. We'll transfer your old drive to the new drive. Obviously if your old drive has any read errors in recorded data, this will be transferred as well.
Q. How will I know when to expect return delivery?
A. Once dispatched, we`ll send you an email with online tracking details, so you can check its return status.
Q. What Warranty do I get?
A. We only use Samsung Eco / Western Digital Green HDDs. These are very quiet, low energy consumption reliable drives. If the drive fails during 12 months from upgrade (not due to a failing PSU), simply return your box
and we will exchange the drive for a new drive, and copy content over where possible.
Q. What happens to my old drive?
A. As your old drive has been in constant use for an unknown length of time, they are no longer serviceable and are disposed of accordingly. Quite often problems you may have experianced with your box are caused by a failing drive.
Q. I have a Thompson Box, what if the PSU is failing?
A. Unlike other sellers we repair PSUs as well. We automatically check each box before commencing the HDD upgrade. Should your PSU have budging capacitors, we will contact you before going any further.
We can repair your PSU for you whilst we have your machine (£30), but please note this is NOT included in the HDD upgrade. A standard PSU repair is £30, using high end Panasonic & Nichicon components, dead PSU repairs are £50.
This modification requires you to send your HD box to us. We quote a typical turn around time of 2 working days from receipt on this modification.
PLEASE NOTE - THIS UPGRADE DOES NOT COVER DEAD/BLOWN PSU`S OR ANY PSU RELATED ISSUES!
If your box is dead, i.e has no red standby light, then your PSU is dead. We can usually repair these, but there is an additional cost.
If you send us a HD Box with a dead PSU we will advise you before
commencing your upgrade so you can either go ahead, or have the unit returned unrepaired.
