My working DMR-BS850 was installed yesterday. I tested it by trying to play one of my R1 DVDs, which, as expected, did not play. 
After using your remote, I was able to play my R1 DVD. Success!
 
I will be sending the remote back today by recorded delivery, so you should get it early next week.

Just wanted to let you know that the handset I hired from you to upgrade my Sony DVD (DAV - DZ361W) to multi-region worked a treat, arrived quickly and this was just before Christmas!!, easy to follow instructions and in 5 minutes it was done. Before finding your company on the web I was being told I couldn't upgrade it, how wrong they were. I will be telling everyone who will listen about your wonderful product.

Thanks - it arrived just now and I've done it. I only realized it had actually done it when I tried the particular disc I wanted to watch, but that's me, my eyes were focused on the DVD screen when the flashing was, of course (I suppose, I didn't see it!) on the service remote. 
The film I wanted to watch, and strongly recommend, is 'Ace in the Hole' (Wilder, 1951 - Kirk Douglas).
I appreciate your service and may well need it again for another machine I have, in another place. The remote will be on its way back to you later this morning.

I was just a bit confused at first because step 1 said the clock should not be showing (although it did also say the machine should not be in standby mode). I was reluctant to attempt the upgrade at first - while the clock was showing, but then realised that I should be doing the upgrade out of standby mode (i.e with the machine on). So everything's fine now. 
I have just posted the handset back to you at 12:15pm today, 1st class Recorded Delivery. The reference number on the Recorded Delivery slip is DV 3832 2225 8GB. You should receive it back in the next day or two.

Many thanks for very fast delivery of the Pioneer DV989AVi service remote. 
I ordered it on Friday 28 December, and it arrived on Monday 31 December, 
just four hours later than my new R2 DV989Avi player. 
I now have a multi-region machine!

I'll hang on to the service remote for a few days, just in case, but will 
return it by your deadline of 12/1/08.

OK, so now you are my hero as everything works J it’s region free. I had to hold stop & eject > 5 seconds.
Maybe my unit is slightly different to other DZ630’s (I have no idea), I got it as a packaged deal from Empire Direct. What did happen on my player
when I originally tried the upgrade was: when in service mode, I pressed the yellow button on the remote and the codes were sent.  I then powered it 
off at the mains and all the trouble started. Must admit, I was a tad concerned I’d created an amp/radio for a while. I’ll post the control back on 
Friday/Saturday. Thanks very much again for you very fast replies to my emails,

The unit worked **eventually** on the Panasonic DMR-EZ27 - it was doing something odd if left on energy saver mode stby WITH A DISC IN
 the word GUIDE was coming up in display and locking up the device! Only an unplug reverted functions I kicked it restarted redid the hack and
turned off the 'energy saver' mode Seems fine now Have missed the post cos of strike youll get remote back early next week now
S'that ok?

First, I must say how delighted I am with the upgrade, it worked exactly as advertised, completely trouble free. The remote will be in return post
just as soon as I've checked round the family for any other similar Sony models (I don't think there are) . Secondly, I must apologise for my 
previous remarks alluding to my colleague with the reverting region code; it seems he (she actually) was not entirely telling the truth, whilst 
her husband was toying with the idea of upgrading (a JCV VHS/DVD combi, but I don't know which model) he never actually went through with
it, quite why she fed me this story I've no idea, more an issue with them I think rather than me. A couple of the U.S DVD disks I was wishing to 
view are their's...and they currently can't watch them!! (maybe they'll be contacting you in due course)

When I originally purchased the upgrade CD, it was refusing to play in the DRM10-S that i owned. This was due to a firmware issue with the first generation units, which you promptly nformed me of. I tried various methods to get a firmware upgrade for my player, which included contacting the dealer and JVC direct. I finally managed to persuade JVC UK to swap the silver unit for a black one. It arrived today, and the software CD worked straight away on the black unit! I can now start enjoying my region 1 discs, finally.... Thankyou for your help and advice and for e-mailing as promptly as you did. I will not hesitate to contact you should I require an upgrade in the future for a new player I may purchase, or recommending you to a friend.
